Night of Destruction finale winners;

Valandingham claims NHRA Jr. Dragster King of the Track title

The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway presented "Night of Destruction" Saturday, featuring monster trucks, jet cars, Fuel Altereds, Alcohol Funny Cars and fireworks.  While legendary monster trucks Bigfoot and Snakebite took center stage, Tony Santos, Robin Harris, Ron Winters, Kahea Woods, Bill Dudley and Ryan Valandingham all shared the spotlight as final-round bracket-racing winners.

Santos, of Las Vegas, defeated Thomas Bayer of Fontana, Calif., to win his first Super Pro title of the year in the Jerry's Nugget Championship Drag Racing Series at The Strip. 

Robin Harris of Las Vegas used a better reaction time on the starting line to defeat Jeff Farrar for Pro honors.

Ron Winters of Las Vegas drove his 1968 El Camino to victory over Boulder City's Robbie Irving in the Street category.

Kahea Woods faced Russell Odegaard in the motorcycle final.  Once again, the better reaction time was the key to victory as Wood defeated Odegaard for the title.

Bill Dudley of Las Vegas is well on his way to a ninth career title as he defeated Billy Fraker in the Sport Compact finale.

The Strip also held its NHRA Jr. Dragster Series King of the Track competition during Night of Destruction.  Ryan Valandingham of Kingman, Ariz., is The Strip's 2005 Jr. Dragster King of the Track after defeating Jake Miller of Golden Valley, Ariz.  Valandingham defeated Ryen Lamb of Henderson and Miller bested Vanessa Hodges of Las Vegas to face each other in the final round.

On Friday, June 18, The Strip will host a Test 'n' Tune session, followed by BFGoodrich Midnight Mayhem from 10 p.m.-2 a.m.  Midnight Mayhem is The Strip's safe alternative to illegal street racing and this summer kickoff party will feature a $500-to-win bikini contest, as well as hip-hop DJs, a car show hosted by Euro Entertainment and midway attractions.
