Drag racers, fans invited to participate in Thanksgiving food drive during the 2004 B&M Las Vegas Bracket Nationals Nov. 25-28
Drag racers entered in the B&M Las Vegas Bracket Nationals, Nov. 25-28 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, are invited to participate in the second annual Thanksgiving food drive for needy families. Race teams and fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation. All food and cash donations will be distributed to local causes immediately after the event. Last year¿s food drive gathered enough donated items to fill a sedan, not to mention hundreds of dollars from out-of-town teams. The Strip¿s announcer¿s booth has again been designated as the drop-off point.
The four-day Thanksgiving weekend event will pay $5,000 to the Super Pro winner each day. Each day¿s Pro division winner will take home $1,000. The holiday event features three classes: Super Pro, Pro and Street/Sport Compact.
Mark Kidd (Super Pro) and Bob Coulter (Pro) are defending champions of the event.
The 2004 Las Vegas Bracket Nationals also will hold a special winner-take-all Gambler Race on Nov. 27, with a $1,000 entry fee.
Racers may save money by entering in advance: $200 for Super Pro, $100 for Pro and $75 for Street/Sport Compact. Late entry fees (entries not received by the Nov. 20 deadline) are: $300 for Super Pro, $200 for Pro and $125 for Street/Sport Compact.
There is no fee for racer camping and there are no hidden gate fees.
Contingency awards and trophies are provided by sanction sponsor B&M and Hedman Hedders.
Spectator admission is $20 per day for adults. A weekend pass for kids 6-12 is $15 and children 5 and under are free. Advance crew weekend credentials are $60 each or $70 after Nov. 20.
